About

Marika is a Brooklyn based interdisciplinary artist, with over ten years of experience working as a lighting and set designer for the performing arts. Her visual art uses elements of photography, collage and graphic design to explore the interdependence of observation and imagination, while investigating the connective tissues between artistic labor, family mysteries, and personal narrative.

Since receiving a BFA in theater from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, she has created lighting and set designs for theater, opera, dance, puppetry and sight specific performance.

Having taken introductory courses in dark room printing (NYU) and digital photography (International Center of Photography), she is continuing her photography practice through independent mentorship and as a member of Topica Collective.
